As I was sitting here contemplating bed, I got an instant hit of energy when I saw this event by Hitched via yespleaseblog. I’m totally in love with the colours of this wedding and sooooooo loving the colour by numbers painting idea! Sure beats the tacky signing the portrait I had at my wedding 11 years ago lol!

I recently had the opportunity to go to Mary Poppins the musical with my daughter Sienna and sister Laura. Wow, what a night. I am steel reeling from the incredible set, outstanding talent and amazing choreography!

Marina Prior, Matt Lee, Verity Hunt-Ballard, Debra Byrne and Philip Quast (just to name a few) were brilliant and so perfect for their roles.

I also have to give a special mention to Bob Crowley whose scenic and costume designs were out of this world. I don’t think I have seen a set quite like it, so dreamy and spectacular.

I have such beautiful memories of watching Mary Poppins as a child with my siblings and cousins, like a lot of fans I can sing along to all the songs and talk the dialogue. Whilst Sienna has seen the movie a couple of times I wasn’t sure how well she would take to the musical, I was so glad to see the look on her face and hear her singing along to all the songs.

There were a few things changed for the musical which at first I was worried about, but the more I watched the more I loved it. The race track scene was changed to Mrs Corry’s sweet shop which was filled with the most colourful of sweets in apothocary jars (which I LOVED of course)

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious was redone to a YMCA style body signing….hilarious.

The children who played Jane and Michael Banks were so fantastic, I couldn’t help wonder how on earth they managed to keep so energized throughout the entire show…….maybe it was the candy in Mrs Corry’s sweets shop.

I highly recommend any Mary Poppins fans out there to head over to the Capital Theatre to catch this fantastic show. You wont be disappointed!

p.s The program has the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious body signing directions in it………my next challenge is to master it LOL!

I couldn’t resist sharing this chair with you designed by Amsterdams Pieter Brenner. It’s an entire chair made of sugar………. ok, so I know my children would love to have one of these but I can’t help thinking of what would happen once they started licking it??? Not to mention the army of ants in the house.  Way too funny but oh so cool !!

I love Easter, not only because of the reminder of what life is all about but because of the opportunity just to put every thing on hold and spend quality time with those you love most.

Of course eating copious amounts of chocolate is a huge part of it as well and I love not feeling guilty until at least Easter Monday for all the chocolate I end up consuming.

There has been a lot going on at LouLou Events lately and  I’m super excited of the planned changes and where we are heading.  I’m Looking forward to sharing more events and beautiful finds with you very soon.

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter

I had the privilege of attending the opening for the Archibold, Sulman and Wynn prize 2011 with my husband last night.

We had such a great time connecting with new people, celebrity spotting but most of all seeing the fabulous entrants for this years prizes.

Although the Archibold prize is the most well known of all, I fell in love with one of the Sulman prize entrants titled ‘The Spoon Collectors’ . I couldn’t resist sharing a few pics with you of my personal stand outs.

I did feel a little guilty for not visiting our beautiful art gallery more often, whenever we travel overseas the galleries are always on our list of must do’s,  yet we have such a historic buidling in our own back yard but never make the time to visit.I’m not sure if my youngest child (2 years) would appreciate it, but as long as I can keep him well contained in his pram then we may try and head back over these school holidays. (wish me luck!)

Hope you enjoy xx

I love the look of all the wine and champagne lined up with the art as the backdrop

We came across this amazing cake on Little Big Company’s facebook page. This cake is the creation of the very talented Erica O’Brien, and was featured on the kiss the groom blog (a personal favourite of ours). We are in love with the delicacy and colours of the mushrooms,  it’s such an unexpected element to a wedding cake .

As frequent wedding guests and event planners,  we love it when the bride and groom choose a cake  that is totally unexpected.

These would have to be some of the pretties jelly shots we have ever seen. Ok, so maybe not appropriate for a children’s party due to the alcohol content, but we are sure they would be a huge hit at your next grown up function or even an upcoming dinner party!

Be sure to pop by jelly shots test kitchen for some inspiration.
